Now I’m sure you guys remember the last photo shoot pics I posted of Alicia and how displeased I was with them. I thought they were dull, boring and totally unimaginative. Well someone heard my cries of unhappiness, went back to the drawing board and came up with something ten times better. New pics of Alicia have surfaced, taken by the same photographer, Thierry Legoues, and they are stunning. It’s obvious a team of hair, make-up and stylists were brought in to pull off this shoot and the results are gorgeous.

Ok you guys, you know how we do things around here every Friday. Because I get so many pics during the week that I don’t use, I throw them up here at the end of the week for you all to critique. This week’s batch of pics consists of Rihanna visiting TRL, Beyonce frolicking around in a bathing suit, a new photo shoot with Keyshia Cole, and whatever else I can fit into this post. To get things started just check out Rihanna to your right. She stopped by MTV’s TRL earlier this week to talk about her upcoming Good Girl Gone Bad World Tour which will feature Ciara as her opening act. As always Rihanna was looking fabulous and proving why she is the right choice to be the new face of an upcoming Dsquared ad campaign, or so rumor says.

Singer Janet Jackson has been criss-crossing the country all this week promoting her new film Why Did I Get Married. Janet made two stops in New York on Thursday, appearing on Good Morning America with Tyler Perry, and later on taping a segment of 106 & Park with both Tyler and Jill Scott. Why Did I Get Married opens today nationwide and sistas especially should support this film. Tyler’s last film to star a Black woman, Daddy’s Little Girls, with Gabrielle Union didn’t do so well at the theaters leading many to believe Black America won’t support a Tyler film without the Madea character. Let’s prove them wrong and show our support for not only Tyler but for the many Black actresses that he gives opportunities to.

A host of new multimedia mobile phones are poised to hit retail shelves just in time for the holiday sales season. Just a week after Verizon unveiled a touch-screen iPhone competitor as part of its fall device lineup, Sprint pulled the curtain back on a pair of new devices as well. The biggest splash in the music department is the Samsung limited edition B’Phone, a Beyonce-branded version of the UpStage music phone originally introduced earlier this year. It was unveiled this morning (Oct. 11) at the Samsung store in New York’s Time Warner Building.

Someone with a camera and a really keen eye caught Foxy Brown (pre-jail) on film having an altercation with a pedestrian (s). In the video, Foxy is seen arguing with a man on the street, throwing something at him and then chasing him down. Later on you see another man heading for Foxy with “The Club” and being restrained by another man who witnessed the altercation. What set Foxy off is not known exactly, but what is apparent is why Foxy sits in jail today. If nothing else, this video is testament to why sometimes it is just best to walk away.

Rihanna’s upcoming Good Girl Gone Bad tour has been extended and singer Ciara will be joining her. Extra dates throughout Europe have been added to the schedule and Ciara has landed the coveted spot of opening act. Now news of Ciara opening for Rihanna is already making waves, as many wonder why Ciara, who has sold more copies of her new CD than Rihanna has, would open for Rihanna rather than the other way around. And though it does seem a tab bit odd at first glance, Ciara will only be opening for Rihanna overseas where Rihanna is by far the bigger star. However, regardless of who is opening for who, I think it’s great to see two sistas hit the road together and I’m sure fans of both of these ladies will feel the same.  read more »

Rihanna is reminding me of Beyonce more and more everyday. Not only is her sense of fashion as impeccable as Beyonce’s is, but she stays on the grind like Beyonce as well, recognizing the importance of being seen and staying in the spotlight. You know what they say, outta sight, outta mind- and judging from the amount of candid photos and appearances Rihanna has made this week, it doesn’t look like she’s about to let the public forget about her any time soon. However, Rihanna is no publicity whore and has a very good reason for having such a high profile this week- and that is the Unicef concert she performed at last night with Akon. Like any good celebrity, Rihanna is using her fame (and vocal cords) to benefit those less fortunate than herself . Now, on the count of three, let’s all saw “Awwwww” (lol).

The Wendy Williams biopic, Queen Of Media, started shooting some months ago but I am only now getting my hands on a few images from the set. As you all know, Robin Givens will be playing Wendy, however pics of her in full Wendy “mode” have not been spotted. As a matter of fact, when I did a search for info on the movie on IMDB it says the movie is in pre-production and it appears all the original cast members have been replaced. Neither Angell Conwell or Treach are listed as cast members anymore, even though they started principle shooting on the film back in May. Filming took place in Washington Square Park and even made the news here in New York. So is the film still on or has it along with the original cast members been scrapped? Only time will tell, but I was so looking forward to seeing Robin pull off Wendy on the big screen.
