I have a confession to make, I do. I’m actually diggin’ Rihanna’s new single =x I’m slowly becoming a fan and it’s scaring me! It looks like we’ll have a lot to look forward to from her album, I’m definitely liking all the joints I’ve heard so far, “Shut Up And Drive” is set to be lifted as the second single from Rihanna’s third LP Good Girl Gone Bad. Here is, not the full quality, but the radio rip that premiered recently; some of the samples are used from the classic 80’s song, “Blue Monday” by New Order. It was reported that the single, “Shut Up And Drive,” will appear in a few car commercials as well! Even though R Kelly is going through some things right now, you can’t deny that he is a great songwriter! I mean, the man can write about anything at anytime. He writes message songs, R&B hits, hip-hop songs … hell, damn near anything! This song here is called “Rise Up” and is dedicated to the Virginia Tech Tragedy. You can stream it below, but on May 15th, you will be able to download the song, and 100% of the net proceeds from its sale will go to the “Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.” Kelly, 40, wrote the inspirational ballad after watching the events unfold on television while he was on route to a performance, Jive said. The lyrics include the lines: “Rise up, when you feel you can’t go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you’re weak and you can’t be strong.” The Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund was created to provide assistance to the victims of the families, as well as grief counseling and other needs for those affected by the shootings. Solo’s back in the studio and working on an upcoming project! These are two new tracks you can listen to from Solange, “ChampagneChronicNightcap” and “White Picket Dreams,” (my absolute favorite!) below. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve always liked Solange’s music, even from the material on Simpley Deep plus I love Alternative R&B. Her music has always been a little bit more “grown-up” and full of depth. Kinda reminds me of a young Sade even, she has definitely grown on me I must say, so I am willingly anticipating the return of Miss Solange. Bring It On! Beyoncé » “In This World” » Download » (Full) » Two new bonus B’Day tracks you guys can take a listen to, out of the two, I like “In This World” a little more. “What’s Good With You” is just all wrong, I see why it wasn’t finalized and didn’t make the cut, it really doesn’t show much growth to me. But needless to say “In This World” I can get with! What song does this remind me of? I feel an ol’ school grove with this one, it’s a little short though, I can just picture two hopeless romances canoodling over the soft melody under a tree in Central Park or something. The lyrics are pretty meaningful as well, it gets a pass from me.  read more »

OK, now we’re talking Usher!! Definite upgrade from “Make It Rain”….. I would have never expected this! R. Kelly and Usher– crazy! That is just stark genius. I love this track possibly more than “Ice Box” remix (Usher sung circles around that boy), although some people would favor this single as the “male version of Beautiful Liar.” (how dare you!!) Me on the other hand, I don’t really see similarities, considering this is a HIT R&B track! I was a little worried at first, but it seems like Usher is ready to make a comeback for y’all. If I have struggles, we all have struggles, simple fact. Nobody is perfect and no one has the right to judge you or act like they know you when they don’t, at all. Like I said a lot of people, as well as myself, can relate to this song because it’s more than “bling, bling” or the cars or your ho’s- whatever! Surely it’s more to life than all of those things I just mentioned and more to talk about- geeze! Talk about anger, love, struggle SOMETHING COT DAMMIT! I’m tired of turning on the radio and hearing the same crap, I think it’s actually making me stupid slowly but surely, like the industry is mocking us! Like “your actually dumb enough to listen to this garbage…” That’s what I get, I’m sorry. The sad part is this shit don’t get NO type of play and I’ve been to a lot of black blogs and NONE of them are even promoting this, which is even sadder.  read more »

DAMN! Stop the madness! I just got use to the shit now, this really isn’t helping. This is suppose to be a “Umbrella” remix featuring Lil’ Mama, dear God, I hope not. For those of you who don’t know Lil’ Mama, she is new artist, 16, who just joined Jive Records; her 1st single was “Lip Gloss,” if you haven’t heard it yet God help you you may listen to it on her MYSPACE. I must say I am really disappointed in M.I.A. with her latest single “Boyz,” the beat sounds a lot like “Bird Flu,” but I may be just hearing things. Don’t get me wrong! I am a crazy M.I.A. fan, it’s just that, I am not in favor of this particular track. But moving on, you can hear “Boyz” (the rip), from her new album entitled Kala, below and decide- as a special bonus I got the remix to Bird Flu from my boy Ray which you can listen to below!! I must say, “Bird Flu” the remix is the SHEIIIT!! And M.I.A. is such an inspiration, she is a true musical sojourner, with her unique sound and style.  read more »
