So, I’ve given y’all at least the abbreviated version of the drama at my apartment: slumlord beefs with property manager, who is actually the leaseholder, who tries to kick out my roommate illegally....yadda, yadda, yikes. Well, it got much worst on Wednesday night. We stopped having heat/hot water last Friday and this is the THIRD time this has happened. I'd been bathing by boiling water or going to the YMCA like a homeless person. And to stay warm, I’d been sleeping under the featherbed. As mad as I was about being cold, it bothered me more that I have a 84 year old neighbor in the apartment upstairs. What kind of person can leave someone that old without heat? And why did the landlord tell me that part of the delay was because he didn’t have the money to fill the oil tank????  read more »

I don't comment about a lot of the craziness I see here in NYC, mostly because "crazy" seems to be somewhat thematic when it comes to my life. I'm not completely jaded, but it takes more than blue hair or shouting lunatics to make me tilt my head and cut my eyes. This three-day weekend started out fabulous, with a little drinking and cutting up with some girls from the secretary pool*. We went to this HOOOOOOD Brooklyn club, where I swear we were the only ones who used real IDs. Chicks had on Rocawear booty shorts and Dereon gear. A mess! We looked like some old aunties in the back steppin', and we were all between 23 and 25! I can't hang with these young'uns no more. The really strange thing though, all the music played was recorded between 2001-2004. Like the DJ had been in a coma for three years and they didn't have the heart to tell him he needed new material.  read more »

Hello! Let me first say thank you for planting those flowers in front of my house. That was very nice of you. You guys have a nice church, that's whatsup. Sorry for running out the house in my nightclothes to move my car on Sunday morning, right as you were all coming in for services. I had to hurry, because you all seem to think it's okay to block me in for HOURS at a time. Now, I'm new here and I respect people's territory.
