Hey there!!!!

My job is going on ANOTHER retreat; this one is only a day long and all the staff from our four campuses will be attending. But, it's outside in the woods. WHY DO COMPANIES DO THIS? Who likes the woods? I don't like getting dirty and I got all the thrills and adventure I need working in Newark and living in Bed Stuy. My co-workers are already laughing about seeing me without a skirt for the first time. You know, I actually have to go and purchase some pants to wear out there, cause I don't have ANY. I coulda swore I had a pair, but I guess I was wrong. And I gotta get some bug spray. Ugh!!!! My skin is just crawling thinking about all the bug bites Im gonna get.  read more »

If I got a 19 year old boy living downstairs, do I have to sleep in a bra? Ughhhhh! That's SO not comfortable! The only time I get to be free is in the crib! I totally forgot about this aspect of living with boys...now, why do I prefer living with them again? Oh well. I guess if the brothas here can put up with all the plucking, shaving, glue, shampoo and highlighting materials I keep in the bathroom, the absolute least I can do is toss on a foundation garment when going outside of my room. You going? Me too. It's gonna be worth it- good, bad or otherwise. I am hoping for the best for my girl, but it's not looking so good! Man, what a tragedy. L-Boogie was such an inspiration to the young ladies in the mid-late 1990s. Everybody from the boho set, to the bougies and the hoodrats was feeling her every word. Shoot, I stopped wearing fake nails and pressing my hair for YEARS after "Doo Wop (That Thing)" dropped! To hear that she is running around looking flippin' insane and demanding that people call her Miss Hill? Woooow. Heroes eventually die, I guess. Cookies are good. I like cookies. But I don't have cookies, I have a salad. Salads are good too, but cookies are far better. Unfortunately, my love for cookies is forcing me to eat more salads. This may make me live longer. I reckon the longer I live, the more cookies I shall have. Just not so many right now. I need to lose 40 pounds by Howard's homecoming. That probally isn't gonna happen, but it's worth a shot. Riddle me this, readers: if I set up a collection plate would you donate to the "Sister Toldja's Get Right Fund"? Since I work at a school, I am surrounded with "kid things" (no kids during the summer though :-( ), which makes me think about my own childhood. Everything was funny back then. Like, EVERYTHING. Someone demonstrating CPR with a dummy? Funny. People with accents? Funny. Someone falling down? Funny. Hell, it was always some ignorant-ass kid in the class who managed to find the humor in "Roots". While I don't want to be a clown, I hope I don't end up one of those stodgy, stick-up-the-arse adults who doesn't realize that while everything isn't funny....most everything is! I spent the weekend with one of my BFFs since high school and we laughed damn near the whole time. You got to laugh to keep from crying beating the crap out of the large percentage of the world populus that needs a whuppin. Word.  read more »
