After hearing the classic “Be My Baby” on XM radio the other night, I decided to go on YouTube to see who sang this beautiful song. I assumed the group was white.

Imagine my surprise when I found out they were LSLH honeys!

I must have watched this video 20 times. Everything about the video was so awe-inspiring — from the group’s slick dance moves, to the black girls in the audience rocking out in their seats!

Ronnie, Estelle and Nedra oozed sensuality without showing an inch of skin! Imagine that.

Yes, Ronnie is singing live. In the 60s, singers were so talented that there was no need for lip syncing.

I finally know where Amy Winehouse got her inspiration for her fabulous beehive. And I now know where Beyonce stole some of her signature dance moves.

The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. The only other black female group to be so honored was the Supremes in 1988.
